date night

Seeing a movie in the theater is a rare event for us... but we always go to the Harry Potter ones. I'd like to say that for the current one we were just waiting a couple weeks so that the theaters wouldn't be so full - but really we just haven't had a chance to see it yet with Peter's weekend call schedule (obviously one can't go to a movie when working, and on post-call days, it would be maybe a little dumb for one to pay to see a movie as one tends to fall asleep in any darkened room or comfortable seat). He's been working pretty late hours in general, so he was ready for a break, and we were both ready for a date night! We enjoyed it.

We also took the opportunity to use one of the restaurant Groupons I've been amassing. Mount Adams was the first area of town we saw on our first visit to Cincinnati after Peter matched; it's an interesting area since it overlooks the river and downtown. We haven't been back since but kept thinking we should have dinner there sometime - so the Mount Adams Bar and Grill Groupon was a must purchase, obviously.

Cute little Mount Adams row houses (probably not cute little prices...)

  1. What? No outfit photo? I'm heartbroken. :) So what did you think of the last installment of Harry Potter movie? Was it all that you hoped? I've not seen it yet, but will most likely wait until it goes out on dvd, as movie theaters are extremely rare thing for us, with our little one.

  2. We just went and saw Harry Potter this afternoon (because we are old and go to matinee showings!). I've come to realize that I don't love going to the movie theater...it's so much more comfortable to be in sweatpants on your own couch - I mean! - at home ;)

  3. So nice you could get out!
So not nice that the Giants keep losing in Cincinnati.

  4. We saw the Harry Potter movie in 3D at the Pacific Science Center IMax yesterday with Anneka and Grace. They had seen it before but that didn't matter to them.

  5. Dad,
We actually came upon some tickets for the game today, and were pleased to see the Giants go down again.
It was very hot, but we still had a great time--lots of water and a lemon chill and plenty of sunscreen.
