lately: life

Things have mostly been about everyday life (and rarely leaving the house) around here lately - been quite busy with work plus a freelance editing project on top of that, been walking the dog and keeping up my running schedule, been cooking dinner, doing laundry, cleaning - the usual. 

I've been a little more stressed and cranky about it all than I'd like; having a freelance deadline always makes me a little edgy, and being rather under the weather all week on top of it, culminating in a full-on miserably sick day on Friday, didn't help control my desires to whine - especially because being sick meant postponing the weekend dinner date we're seriously overdue for. But there have been some really nice moments mixed in, the kind that make you mindful of your blessings and remember that everyday life is pretty darn great.

It maybe felt like a week with nothing exciting to report, but the special little things actually are kind of exciting when they're your special things, don't you think?
