week + end

I'm back from a lovely week of reading (4 books!), sunning, and playing with my extended family on St. George Island, Florida - thanks to having younger brother still in high school (plus younger cousins + teacher aunts and uncles) and having a portable job, I'm still taking spring break vacations as a 27 year old, which is awesome.

The not quite as awesome part: having to dedicate a big chunk of the weekend to the drive home. We spent a solid 14 hours in the car along with a zillion other people leaving the south via 1-65, but at least I got to get out at Cincinnati - my mom and brother had another 6 hours to do the next morning...

Peter was on call Saturday starting at almost the exact time we left Florida, so it was another opportunity to play the let's see all the things I can do while Peter works a single shift game: drive all the way home from Florida, quick stop at the hospital to say hi to Peter, shop at Trader Joe's, dinner at Chipotle, dessert at Graeters, sleep a full night, eat breakfast, run 5.5 miles, get ready for church. All that and he was still working, poor guy.

  4. Aww, that looks like such a fun time! But wow, 14 hours is a LONG car ride! Hopefully you're one of those people who can sleep in the car--it sure does make the time go faster!
