twenty-eight

Am I too old to still get excited about my birthday? I'll admit that as an adult birthdays don't quite hold the appeal they used to in childhood - I was always on summer vacation from school for it growing up, but now it's usually a work day (and spending it away from my mom, which happens almost every time now that I've moved away, is always a little sad for both of us) - and then there's that bigger number every year. It used to be exciting to get another candle on the cake, but now of course I'm having a few qualms about being firmly entrenched in those late 20s.

But deep down, I still really love my birthday and wake up feeling a little extra excited on it. So in honor of still enjoying a day about me, a few random photos from my birthdays of years past...

  1. Happy Birthday! I think birthdays should always be exciting, but I feel your pain on getting a little too close to 30. I hope you have a wonderful day celebrating!
