After cleaning up my Pinterest boards over the weekend I noticed a fall theme emerging at the top of the "things to make" board, so I thought I'd better try out one of these seasonally appropriate projects! This picture of painted pine cones caught my eye immediately for the pretty colors, and they made the cut in the cleanout because (1) I like decorating with natural elements and (2) they're something (easy) I'd actually make. Bonus: I had all the supplies on hand!

I picked up these pine cones on super clearance at Michael's last year since they were so cheap and I thought they'd make some kind of good fall decoration, but I never did anything with them. Like my Pinterest boards, I kind of need to clean out my craft stash I think...
So with this inspiration and some paints from my craft area, the pine cones are now oh so me - perfect for fall decorating (but not fall themey, which I don't do) and in the color palette of the living room decor. I've got them scattered in the bay window and kind of love them.
