sporting: OPI Big Apple Red. I usually reserve red nail polish for my toes, but for the holidays, my favorite red was just the thing for a festive manicure.

eating: peanut butter balls (you can eat them too - recipe here). More like "trying not to eat all of," I guess... My great grandma's recipe is one of my favorite treats; I made them for book club when I hosted last December, and the ladies requested them again for this year.

reading: Tana French's latest, Broken Harbor. (Actually I have finished it by now as I couldn't put it down.) She's one of my favorite writers of good, literary detective stories, and I wish she would write a whole bunch more, pronto, so I could keep reading.

anticipating: meeting my parents' new puppies! And celebrating Christmas with my family, but... PUPPIES. My family keeps posting photos of the puppies curled up sleeping on their laps (or right on my mom's computer); they're killing me with cuteness, and I want a turn!

crafting: girly gifts. I like to do a little something handmade, and these fabulous (and super easy - see here) hair ties are perfect little packages for lady friends and family.

coveting: the sweetest baby ever. This little cutie belongs to one of Peter's co-residents. At the Christmas party last weekend I was scheming how I could get her parents to let me keep her - especially after she fell asleep in my arms. Nothing compares to having a sleeping babe in arms (except maybe a puppy - see above).

How about you?
