This Toy Stories photograph series of animal figurines and funny captions by Aled Lewis is adorably amusing. Two favorites (but you should check them all out, and you can buy a whole book! I want it):

If one is somehow still feeling blue after that, there's this 50 cutest things that ever happened page. This baby elephant face plant and stuffed toy look-alike puppy are my favorite.

This is the clincher for me though: Ginger in Peter's glasses. Just remembering how much I cried from laughing so hard while he was taking these photos is enough to draw a giggle every time I see them. (And this is yet another example of how she is the world's most tolerant dog.)

And of course there is a whole YouTube trove of cute animal videos, like Lala the penguin who wears a backpack to go shopping for his own fish or the sneezing baby panda that scares its mom, for a really tough day. Any other suggestions for me?

I know how you feel, January sucks sometimes. Hope you feel better soon. In the meantime, try Cute Overload, The Daily Puppy, and The Pet Collective. Also this video. :)
ReplyDeleteThe BBC series (older) "Walk on the Wild Side" promos, which you can find on Youtube are hilarious voiceovers of wild animals. The best is Alan the Marmot (there's a french version with subtitles too). This is my go-to cheer up and laugh video.
ReplyDeleteHugs for you, Ann!

marcel the shell, while maybe technically not an animal, is always good for a pick-me-up. hope life turns around soon.
ReplyDeleteThese are all great! My son slid some sillies like these at me one day when I was owly! Marcel the Shell is THE BEST! We recite the lines randomly when we need a break in the mood!
ReplyDeleteChin up! Laughing looks good on everyone!
I'm totally convinced that there's no bad day that a picture of animals can't solve!

oh man - I got SAD for real when I lived in London. it sounds like a fake thing, but it's serious - take care of yourself!
ReplyDeleteSorry you're in a funk! I get a similar feeling now and again...I love the first two photos! I'm going to have to look that up.
ReplyDeleteThis was so great, I can see we have the same "cheer me up" kind of taste! Thanks for this-I'm in a funk too, I swear it happens every January. And your title reminds me of my mom who tells me "Buck up beaver" any time I am complaining to her about something! Ha! Hope you start to feel better soon. :)
