This might be a new theme of the style posts: summer trends that I thought were not a good idea - or at least definitely not for me - that I have found the right piece to change my mind. Next up, after the romper, we have the one-shoulder look. I just didn't feel the need to go there, but then (1) I spotted this fabulous way to wear chambray + white when it's too hot for regular chambray, and (2) I have always considered my shoulders to be one of my best features... so why not utilize this trend?!
So, as much as I love my dresses + denim and my new romper, this was the outfit I was most excited to wear from my June mix & match lineup. Perfectly summery and just the thing for date night. And now that I'm in on this one-shoulder thing, in July's lineup, I just might be hopping on the off-the-shoulder bandwagon too...
This is a great top! I love that tops like this give me the feel of a OTS top without worrying that it will fall down! Glad you decided to give it a try! It's a winner!
I must agree - you've got great shoulders! Does that sound weird? I'm still a little leery of the one shoulder/off the shoulder look myself, but this is adorable. Also, not mentioned - your hair!! It looks awesome. If you did it yourself you're now going to have to give a little tutorial. My curls never look that good. All your practice is paying off! And I have to think you have been gifted with hair that just happens to hold curl - or most styling - pretty well.
Your outfit is so patriotic and I love, love, love that! Also, I've been eyeing up these tops at JCrew (and other places), but I'm worried about them flopping down on the side without a shoulder. Is that an irrational fear? LOL
First of all, your hair is fantastic! I do like the one-shoulder trend, if I can get past my hatred of strapless bras. This chambray version may be one of the best one-shoulder tops I've seen too. I think if it's done in chambray, then I'm willing to try the trend (maybe I need to find a chambray romper...). So classic, but fun, with white.
This look ROCKS on you. Show them shoulders off, lady! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this top on you. I also like that even though the shoulder is a bit trendy chambray will always be in style.
ReplyDeleteWhy not flaunt it! This looks fantastic on you! Love it paired with the white pants. Perfect summer look!
ReplyDeletei love that top! xo jillian - cornflake dreams

ReplyDeleteWait a minute, this clutch was available at Loft for 2.5 seconds and I own it as well...
ReplyDeleteAlso, you look great in this outfit and you've inspired me to actually (finally) learn how to curl my hair.
