five things Friday: now & later edition

Summer's still in full swing, but as usual that back-to-school push creeps in way too fast, and all you see in stores right now is fall stuff... I'm not wishing the cooler months to arrive any sooner, but when it comes to a versatile wardrobe, I do say it doesn't hurt to look ahead. Here are 5 items you can love now and still get plenty of use out of later:

little red dress: while it's still hot it's easy breezy paired with just some statement sandals like this, and then when the weather turns cold you can layer it with a black blazer and booties.

cargo jacket: looks fab with a little white dress right now, and it's of course crazy versatile all fall, but I especially like it paired with plaid for an autumnal twist.

patterned blouse: make it cute and summery by tucking into a bright skirt now, and then add that cargo jacket in the fall with jeans and leather ankle boots.

nylon backpack: this classic Longchamp look works perfectly to take your gear along to the beach now and then to give your outfits a little back-to-school glam in the fall.

sneakers: pair with a jersey dress now for a simple summer look, and then for sporty fall look, layer up with leggings, a sweater, and a vest.
