We got pretty lucky with pleasant weather on Monday evenings for this soccer season - could have been way colder and rainier - but as it got later into October, more layers definitely became necessary for spectating. This vest and chambray combo with sneakers has all the great mom layers for look that has some polish and interest but was still perfect for doing some soccer practice with Hendrik in the yard.
And ooh, did he need a little practice... on our way to the first session, he actually asked me "will the hoop be high?" Ummm, yeah. We had a little learning to do about what soccer actually is, and then when he got out on the field with his pasty complexion and uncoordinated self, it sort of looked like we'd never let him outside before. So he likes to stay in and play legos! There were a lot of tears the first couple of weeks, but by the end he was having tons of fun and got way better at kicking and keeping up with the other kids. Still no actual kicking of the ball during a game unless it happened to come and hit him in the leg, but hey, there's always next season.
Sharing on Hello Monday.

So many things to love about this! Maybe he'll be a really great golfer? :) But I love the stripes and polka dot combo + chambray. You're making me realize I need to up my sneaker game.
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit and love seeing little man out there! How adorable?! I can't wait to be a sports momma! Glad to hear there was more fun than tears by the end of it hehe.
ReplyDeleteI have a polka dot puff vest from last year that I got from the kid's section at Target - love it! I mean, I only get to wear it when we go on cold vacations, but I am OBSESSED!
ReplyDeleteMini shin guards?! Too precious. I have a similar vest too, its fantastic.
