mini me Monday: springing up

Hendrik's age and clothes sizing have pretty much always lined up, at least for the brands I buy - but at 3.5 years old and another growth spurt, that's finally changing... we were ending up with a lot of flood pants around here, so size 4T it is. Happily, for my shopping enjoyment, his springing up in height corresponds with some good new seasonal shopping options:

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8

Poppy-ish reds and various blues are always what I gravitate to in my own style, so is it any surprise that's what ends up in his closet too? I always love the little man stuff like chinos and button-downs, and then a few fun touches too, in graphic tees or patterned socks. Plus sunglasses! For some reason Hendrik has always loved to wear them, so I get a kick out of buying him cool guy versions - we always get so many comments on his shades when we're out and about. And since he's kind of obsessed with Peter's blue Ray-Ban sunglasses lately, I couldn't resist this mini me pair.

Also coming with the clothes getting too small lately has been complaints of his shoes being too tight, so I'm looking into some warm weather options. There are approximately 2 options for cute but still 3-year-old functional boy sandals (little girls have soooooo many more options!), but I recently came across this Plae brand and think this breathable + washable shoe could be great - and hopefully easier to actually put on than the Native shoes ones that I think are adorable but were so hard to finagle onto a sweaty little foot. Anyone have experience with these?

  1. Totally cute! I agree that little man clothes for boys are the cutest! Those shorts with that hoodie are adorable.

  2. Shopping for a little boy is way more fun than I ever thought it would be! We're just on the edge of a full shift to the next size up too and I gladly use it as an excuse to have some fun. I'm pretty sure I even almost ordered that cute car tee the last time I did an Old Navy order. :)

  3. My girl just made the jump to 3T with half a year until her age catches up. I swear I had just pulled the size 1s out of her drawers less than a month before. I wish I could take advantage of all the shoe options for girls but she is pretty much set on ballet flats. It never occurred to me to look for WASHABLE shoes! That would make life so much easier!
