lighting: the Christmas tree, any time I'm home. I just can't get enough of that cozy glow this time of year
spending: a lot of time with the UPS man, hehe. Between some irresistible Cyber Monday deals, a new haul of hoodies for Hendrik to accommodate the cast on his arm (yeah, that happened), and of course most of my Christmas shopping, there have been a lot of boxes arriving here. Latest delivery was Method holiday soaps + cute festive dish towels to give to all of Hendrik's teachers.
choosing: what to include in the final installment of this year's gift grid guides, which is all about books. I'm super excited to share this one in a couple of weeks, with tons of suggestions of good reads to gift to your family and friends.
sending: a big stack of Christmas cards. Pretty pleased with myself in how early and quickly I got them ordered this year (via Shutterfly). It usually takes me soooo long to narrow down which photo(s) to use, much less which card design!
singing: along with my newest favorite holiday album: Christmas with Jon Batiste. It takes something special for me to branch out from my long-time favorites, and this one is.

Now Catherine (A Short Blonde) and I want to hear about all of the holiday fun currently going on in your life! Please be sure to stop by Catherine's blog and some others to share seasonal greetings while you're at it.
And then we'll launch 2018 with a January 3 linkup about what everyone's currently starting, hoping, scheduling, reading, and playing.
I adore the glow of the Christmas tree, too. My favorite in the evening or early mornings. Yay for Christmas cards!
ReplyDeleteHaha!! Gotta love time with the UPS man! And a gift grid book guide?! The book-lover in me can't to see what's on it!
ReplyDeleteMy husband works for UPS! Thanks for supporting his company!

LOL I've been spending a lot of time with delivery people too. They probably hate me. Ha! And poor Hendrik, I hope he recovers quickly! I can't get enough of lighting the Christmas tree either--it's instant festivity :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Hendrik! Poor buddy. Hope he is feeling all sorts of cool with cast signatures though - the only redeeming part of an injury like that!!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the UPS man! He has been stopping by quite a bit lately :) Merry Christmas in advance!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what books you suggest. I love bookish gift guides - and gift guides in general. My family likes to put on all the lights when we're home for the night too. It's just relaxing.

Totally forgot to do this...darn it! Putting down in the calendar for next year! Glad you are going to keep it going. Yes to all the lights, finally finishing up decorating and I am loving it!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the gift guides! I haven't even started thinking about Christmas cards yet, and that's unusual. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteLove Method and Target so I'm off to see what you bought. I cannot wait to read about your book choices! Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteAs a teacher, I love the soap and dish towel idea! I would love to receive that!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting! Our UPS man just seems to drop and run!
ReplyDeleteOooo those dish towels are so cute! I am trying to figure out what to get Reese's daycare teachers this year! That's a good idea.

ReplyDeleteYou sound so organized and on top of things this holiday season! I wish I felt the same! LOL. I am excited to see your book gift guide! I love book reviews or comparing notes when I've read the same book as someone else.

All of our Christmas cards are mailed--I still have a few to hand out in person to people I don't have actual addresses for, but I like having that task completed!
ReplyDeleteWe always do New Years cards. It leaves me feeling less rushed. ;-) I purchased little soaps at TJ's for Phoenix's teaches but I need to arrange them before next week!
ReplyDeleteThe UPS man has been visiting our house a lot lately too. We haven't gotten the tree up yet, but hopefully this weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your gift grid on books to give to family. Will be sharing my favorite children's Christmas books on Friday; would love for you to come by. Sorry about Hendrick's arm. I bet that is complicating life for you and him.
ReplyDeleteGuess I missed the deadline. Oh well.
