appreciating: where we live. Being out lately for Halloween and raking leaves, I realized how well settled we are after 3 years, knowing a lot of our neighbors, being able to walk to lots of our favorite places (farmers market, library, church). Also appreciating how snazzy our new blue door color looks...

researching: ideas for my annual gift grid guides. Usually I have a lot of fun putting them together, but they are a fair bit of work - do you enjoy/use these? Are they worth re-vamping for this holiday season?

posting: my fair share of fall photos! Plus now I'm 11 for 11 on posting bike rides to Strava each month of the year so far, after a (chilly) fall gravel ride last Friday. Going 12 for 12 on biking outdoors each month is on my list of 18 in 2018, so I'm almost there, after at least one (probably even chillier) December ride.

getting: some new boots in preparation for winter. Last year I decided my current situation just wasn't cutting it with the snow and cold around here. If I'm going to wear any "regular" looking boots, they're going to have to be waterproof, so I'm considering these cute Sorel wedges. And then my not nearly warm enough "snow" boots are out, with perhaps these or these on their way in. Also this coat to add to my collection, because...winter.

cooking: more "use what you've got" meals, or at least trying to. It sometimes takes a little work to come up with a recipe for what we've got around, rather than just buying more groceries, but I was proud of myself recently for coming up with these spinach chicken meatballs (using store-bought sauce from the fridge, ha!).

Now what are you currently up to? Link up below (related posts only, please), and then come on back on December 5 for my favorite one of the year... the holiday season one! Can't wait to chat what we're currently gifting, baking, singing, mailing, and decorating at that time.
