wearing lately: November blues

Okay I'm really going to try not to complain about the weather, because it's just a fact of life that November through March (April, really) brings a lot of gray skies and plenty of snow to my part of the world. But I did indulge myself in a little feeling blue about the snow and the blustery freezing temperatures last weekend... I mean, I'm just so cold all the time already!

Coping mechanisms: pulling out all my navy blues (I really looked head-to-toe navy with the navy parka this all got covered up with), and also my new sweaters.

I love me some basics with a twist, and I added a couple of great options to my wardrobe to replace the old tired ones. Things like this pocket-front sweater, my cross-front number from a couple of weeks ago, and this roll-neck guy have enough interest and texture to make a "look" with jeans on their own (and also all great layered with a stripey turtleneck or perhaps a gingham flannel when the extra extra warmth is necessary) - which is nice, because it's pretty much going to be all sweaters from here on out.

How's your sweater weather looking?
