making lately: Thanksgiving tablescape plans

Thanksgiving is rather late in the month this year, which is going to be a bit of a shocker afterwards when Christmas is upon us that much faster, but for now, it's kind of handy for extra planning time. My family is lucky to have my mom doing a fabulous job of the menu planning and dish assignments and hosting; usually I get away with mostly helping with setup. But part of that is helping with table setting ideas, and I'm utilizing my extra time this month to plan ahead a bit better than usual on that...

Loving these simple ideas I spotted on Pinterest that are mostly all about just grouping a bunch of mini pumpkins. It's an inexpensive way to go, but it packs a punch when you get that many of them on the table at once, don't you think? All you have to do is add in some candles and simple greens or leaves, and it's a whole thing.

Hoping I can still find some leaves underneath the snow, and that our farmer's market still has the mini pumpkins, since they're usually about 50 cents apiece there. Otherwise craft store pumpkins will do, especially with a quick coat of spray paint - isn't the blue color especially striking in that 4th image?
