wearing lately: fall upgrade

Something about the colder months makes me look for richer colors and lots of textures in my wardrobe, and this outfit is all about little upgrades to give me those cozy and luxe vibes to go with the chill in the air and the vibrant leaves on the trees (which are mostly gone now after getting snow covered already, but never mind).

I'm super excited about these new bag straps from Madewell. They work on a whole range of their crossbody and tote bags, but really they can work on any bag you already own, if it has a removable strap. It's like getting a whole new bag for a fraction of the price! Instant upgrade. I love this one with my mini transport tote, but it was also a perfect match for this older Kate Spade camera bag, and how fabulous does it look on there?!

And speaking of upgrades, I decided it was time to finally get my first cashmere sweater. I wear sweaters for so many months of the year that it's hard to keep them from one year to the next - they just get too pilled or worn out after one season! - so I was hoping this might provide an upgrade in quality. And also an upgrade in luxury - softness and warmth without bulk, yes please. Really love this one I found on the "pay what you want" (aka sale) section at Everlane because the fine ribbing and the slightly flared sleeves add just a little extra specialness. Not sure if there are any of these left, but I found some similar options in cashmere and other cozy knits, in case you're in the market for a sweater upgrade right about now too... brrrrr!
