wearing lately: holiday mini capsule

Winter is not my favorite season to dress for, but the month of December never fails to energize me in that department - there are so many occasions and gatherings that give one an excuse to put together a good outfit. Plus, even when I'm just at home, it's so cozy and fun to light up the Christmas tree and have an outfit with just a bit of festivity to go along with it. Here are the items I'm going to be mixing and matching this month to give me my happy holiday feels:

You really don't need a whole lot of "holiday" clothes to make a festive little capsule - the usual jeans and sweaters are perfect when paired with a couple of pops of seasonal plaid or shine. The button-down, scarf, skirt, and flats pretty much encompass my December extras. This year I put them with black, cream, and burgundy (while last year's capsule was with black, beige and green), and I can't wait to get dressed in the morning, whether it's for a regular day or for the local Christmas parade (these warm jeans will come in handy for that tonight) or for a family holiday gathering.
