Since it's Hendrik's spring break week, I thought doing cutout cookies would be a great idea because it eats up a lot of empty hours... there's making the dough, cutting out the shapes and baking the cookies, and then decorating! Ours will be much more sprinkle filled a la 6-year-old style than these pretty ones I spotted on Pinterest, but with our family recipe they'll be as delicious as always.
Making the cutout cookies used up the very last of our flour, and that's something that Peter has not been able to snag on a grocery trip - always fully sold out - so I won't be able to make again one of my past favorite Easter treats (the Cadbury skillet cookie or the Cadbury thumbprint cookies). Happily, though, my Amazon-sized purchase of peanut butter is still going strong, so I'm very tempted to try out this peanut butter egg recipe!
Hope you enjoy some Easter treats this week too.
