1. Minneapolis with kids: next year’s big conference is already scheduled for Minneapolis, a city that I’ve been wanting to visit for ages. Shea’s recent family trip makes me think I should have the rest of my family join me at the end for the first time.
2. Great luggage: I decided last-minute to get a new rolling suitcase for this trip (thank you, super fast Shopbop shipping), and the price is definitely right on this Herschel suitcase. Plus I love the navy color as something a little different - and the 4-way rolling wheels are a game changer! I liked it so much that I think I’m going to order the carry-on size when I get home.
3. Road trip listens: if my most recent podcast recap list didn't provide enough, I'm loving this list of 11 new ones to try this summer - especially that there is a new-to-me book one on it!
4. Best indie bookstores in the US: speaking of road trips and books, if I were going to do a summer road trip I would definitely be into the idea of planning one around great book shops, inspired by this list and this podcast episode.
5. Jet-set journal: I might love the getaway wardrobe almost as much as the beach itself. Great stylish ideas for beach and beyond here!
Safe travels!! And the right type of luggage can seriously make you break you while traveling!
ReplyDeleteWe live in Minneapolis and have a toddler and absolutely love it! It is such a family-friendly city. Our favorite thing is that most city parks have free splash pads and/or pools. Perfect for toddlers in the summer! A few other family recommendations, in case you come: Sea Salt Eatery and Minnehaha Falls, biking around the Grand Round, Brasa Eatery... and pretty much everything the person mentioned in the link above.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy visiting Indir bookstores on my layovers. I also attend book signings. If you visit Tampa Florida, the bookstore in the Oxford Exchange is one of my favorites. They also host a book club and frequent author events. I love the coffee and tea bar and beautiful decor. I like me to follow @annuebjobes05 on Instagram for book recommendations. She owns The Bookshelf in Thomasville, GA. It's on my list to visit.
ReplyDeleteWe just got the roller bag with 4 wheels, so awesome! and I like that last Jet setter what to pack list, must have.
ReplyDeleteLove the suitcase and 4-way rolling wheels really are a game changer. Jealous of your Michigan summer. :)
ReplyDeleteClearly I'm behind at my blog reading here, but thanks so much for sharing my post! I'm checking out that podcast round-up too, as if my queue couldn't get any longer (#addict). Reading Glasses sounds like a must-listen for sure, although with WSIRN and another one I just started listening to, All the Books from Book Riot, my TBR is getting ridiculous. (Not to mention all the recommendations I get from your blog and others'...)
