The big downside of a winter anniversary (warm weather vacation excuse being the obvious major perk!) is that I just find it kind of hard to dress for cold weather date night. Huge sweaters and winter boots just don't feel that va-voom, am I right?
But I was pretty pleased with how the ensemble turned out for this one - taking the pretty floral blouse from last month and giving it a little edge/cool factor by adding a moto jacket and a black & tan combo. Layers warm enough for indoors, and the jacket is thin enough that my puffer jacket can fit over top, so I could survive outdoors too.
Oh, and the upside of having a date the night before your anniversary? An excuse to have "anniversary ice cream" the next evening (that may or may not be a thing I made up - but Peter knows my love language very well), which is lovely, even if it is accompanied by the Super Bowl, trying to steal our February 4 thunder.

Happy anniversary! Dates in general are hard in winter so it’s probably best to have a winter anniversary so you have an inexcusable reason do something!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a look I love and would wear. And yes there is a cool and edgy factor too.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary! Love the cognac and burgundy. "Anniversary ice cream" is a lovely idea. :) We didn't even watch the Super Bowl this year. In fact, my husband told me he's never watched a Super Bowl. How a 43-year-old man can say that beats me?!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary -- loved the floral blouse paired with this jacket.
ReplyDeleteAnniversary ice cream? Oh that should totally be a thing. I think I may have to make it a thing too as that is SO my love language as well. We've never gone to a comedy show either, but that sounds like fun! We have a date night coming up as well, so thank you for this outfit idea that I may just steal for that occasion if weather permits.
ReplyDeleteI never know what to wear "out" in winter, but you've given me some new ideas. Thanks!
