wearing lately: spring blouse, now and later

I try not to cave in to the temptation too often, but every once in a while there's an item I see on a bunch of bloggers and just can't resist ordering to try for myself. Such as: this Madewell blouse. But as it immediately became the favorite item in my closet, I've decided I'm justified in this "everybody's doing it" purchase. Already I know I'll be wearing it all spring - and beyond.

A "now" outfit (in theory...this is Michigan, after all) of any sort gets layered with one of my several beloved spring-weight jackets. With this blouse, I love how the colors look with my mossy brown downtown field jacket, but I'm sure I'll be pairing it with my denim jacket and my leather jacket too, because I'm going to be wearing this blouse to death...

...especially because it works so great for "later" with some white jeans. Super simple outfit, but the blouse details, with the silhouette, ruffle sleeves, and of course pretty pattern, just makes it an outfit with no work involved.

That "now" ensemble is coming with me to California next week - and was in fact the inspiration for my whole mix & match suitcase... stay tuned for the rest!
