2018 holiday gift grid: need

Anyone out Black Friday shopping today? I've never been into the idea (I like a deal, but not as much as I like avoiding crowds and long lines), but the Internet sure does make it easier and more tempting! This year I'm trying to avoid it in general, doing as much of a no-shop November as I can, and it just feels kind of good to not think about what I "need" from whatever sales are going on. That said, this is also prime time to begin the Christmas shopping, and so I might do a little buying for others - and, appropriately, I also have the next installment of the 2018 holiday gift grid guides ready: after last week's want list, here's what they might need:

for the ladies: Bellicon rebounder | Verilux light therapy lamp | Thyme Is Honey daily page notepad | Mami Wata fruit infuser water bottle | for the guys: Wahoo tickr heart rate monitor | Amazon smart plug | RV Metal Shop state bottle opener | Aveda Men travel hair/grooming kit | for the friends & relations: Biddeford heated throw blanket | Dash mini waffle maker | Hearth and Hammer literary candle | Container Store internet password keeper | for the little lady: Pillowfort play table + chairs | Herschel kids backpack | Bijoux Marie Puce cat hair ties | Moon Shine Suds rainbow crystal soaps | for the little guy: SNURK Living astronaut duvet set | Emsco kids snow shovel | JOY Creative Shop fill-in thank you cards | Cat & Jack dino print wallet

"Need" is of course a relative thing, but for holiday gift giving I define it here as something very useful and practical - but that can still be fun to give (and get!), whether it's a splurge-priced item or a stocking stuffer. I admit, the ladies' line pretty much shows my wishlist... those Bellicon mini trampolines are pricey, but so great for some super fun indoor exercise. Also, with how grey November has been already, I'm really angling for one of those "happy" lights for the winter, and with my recent water-drinking kick (inspired by that notepad and this corresponding podcast), a fruit infuser bottle would be perfect!

Everything else on here is something I would totally buy for someone in my life, but I can give a few specific recommendations from personal experience: the mini waffle maker is super cute, inexpensive, and fabulous. Just stir some water into Kodiak Cakes mix, and you've got a perfect waffle in 3 minutes with this little guy. We've had one for a year and it's going great. Also, Peter uses Aveda shampoo, to which we give a couple of thumbs up. And a snow shovel for a 3-6 year old is a high recommend as well. While I find it drudgery, they seem to LOVE shoveling snow around, which is handy to keep Hendrik occupied while I do the driveway...
