wearing lately: school run

Well, we're into the swing of things with the school year now, which means the daily school run. In some British or Australian novel (quite possibly one by Liane Moriarty), I remember the school pickup routine being referred to as the school run, and I've decided to adopt the phrasing myself - anything to make it seem more interesting than what it is, just the daily drive back and forth across town (x2) that'll be happening from now until June.

Also making it feel slightly more interesting is putting on a good outfit for the afternoon school run (since the morning dropoff doesn't require getting out of the car, and thus I have until like 3pm to decide what I actually want to wear for the day, after taking off my workout clothes).

This day I was quite pleased with the combination of not-so-basic jeans and a tee (the "not so" comes from the cool button front fly and knot-tied top) with some snazzy burgundy runners on my feet. Perfect for the walk over from the far parking lot to the school entrance to retrieve Hendrik, since I refuse to sit with my car idling in that super long line of parents to do the pickup line... Though we'll see if my tune changes come winter!
