sipping: well, not any wine or beer or cocktails for the next 30 days, since today starts my Whole30... so I might be trying out some of the approved La Croix spritzer recipes when I'm in the mood for something besides water.
wishlisting: cool dining tables and chairs for our new house - I love the looks of this set spotted on The Style Files. I even have a brick wall in my new dining room to match!
writing: emails, always so many emails. I have 4 different accounts for work, and then my personal ones, that have been busy lately with house buying and selling stuff, blog chatter, etc. (image)
exploring: the possibility of a trip while Peter has the month of July off between the end of residency and the start of his job. We've been to Chicago a zillion times but love it, and it's an easy drive from our new city, so that's an option, but somehow I'm stumped on any other fun new ideas for a little couples getaway. Maybe New York? Montreal? My parents said they loved Sante Fe. Any other favorite getaway places? Also, perhaps I need this lovely getaway bag...

Sharing on Sunday Lately.
Those La Croix drinks look so yummy! What is you favor flavor? I can only get them by the case here, and they are very hit or miss for me so I'm always scared to try new flavors. I vote you guys go some where you have never been on your trip. Have fun planning - that's my favorite part!!
ReplyDeleteI've gone to Santa Fe a few time before I was married and absolutely loved it. My husband has never been and I've been wanting to take him there. It is a beautiful vacation spot.
ReplyDeleteHow funny! I also mentioned that I was drinking La Croix in my Currently for the month! Great minds think alike, I guess!
ReplyDeleteThat does look like a cute, versatile peplum tee! Also, good luck with the Whole 30--I can't wait to hear how it goes!
ReplyDeleteA mini-getaway sounds fun. We're thinking of taking a trip in June or July too, somewhere not too far. We went to St. Louis last summer, and it was a fun, low-key getaway.
I've never tried La Croix before, but I keep reading about it in all the blogs. I need to try it sometime! A getaway sounds so nice to me right now! Looks like you're more of a big city adventurous kind of person, but I love exploring small towns nearby! In fact that's what we did for our honeymoon- instead of a big fancy trip, we drove less than an hour away to an adorable little town with all these cute shops to explore and fun, unique places to eat. So much less stressful, and therefore more enjoyable, for me!
ReplyDeleteFew things 1) Wah wah, sad you're moving. but a brick wall in your dining room? HELLO! Can you email me a link? I wanna see this house! 2) La Croix and Kombucha are great during whole 30. For Kombucha, I really like Ginger Berry and Cosmic Cranberry by GT brand... its expensive at $3.29 / bottle, but it goes a LONG way when you're craving something fizzy or alcoholic tasting..... so worth the splurge in order to get to the finish line.
ReplyDeleteI have been eyeing that same peplum top for a couple weeks. I think since you posted about it today that it's a sign I need it, right?! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is a super cute peplum!
ReplyDeleteI have been loving La Croix. It's on my sip list too! I've always wanted to do a trip to Austin..though getting to Texas is always a bit tricky. NYC is always a great option.
ReplyDeleteI just got a similar shirt at Kohl's - so cute (and flattering!)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the Whole30! I'm impressed! And also, that peplum t-shirt is too cute. I'm glad that is a style that will still be popular this year, I want one!
ReplyDeletei loveee chicago in the summer! so that gets my vote :) xo jillian - cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteWe tried to do a Whole30 last month. Ours didnt last long, but those LaCroix waters weren't too bad. I needed a little carbonation after nothing but water haha. Good luck this month!
ReplyDeleteThat top would look perfect on you... me, not so much- darnit! ;) I can't wait to have a home with a big dining table set in it! Swoon.
ReplyDeleteCute top! :) and girl, I feel your Whole30 pain...I did my first cycle in September and then again in January, now we eat primarily Paleo. It gets easier after the first week and we actually really loved it! :)
ReplyDeleteLove La Croix!!! I finished my first Whole 30 in Jan. and it was a life changing experience. I will never go back to eating the way I was before. Besides losing 20 lbs and 11 inches (-30 lbs and 19 inches and counting now) I feel amazing! I second the Kombucha, I loved that as well and I cut it with water to make it go farther. I instagrammed a ton of my meals if you are looking for ideas! Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteI can definitely see getting a ton of wear out of that top! I've been wish listing furniture lately, too. A new dining room set is pretty high on my list, but not quite as high on my husband's, so we'll see where we get with that. ;) How fun to have a brick wall as a backdrop for the table, though!
ReplyDeleteOh La Croix is my favorite! I've been on a medicine for a little while where I can't have alcohol and it's not the worst thing in the world! I'm anxious to see how your Whole30 goes. I'm kind of afraid to try it.
ReplyDeleteoh, i love la croix - or any sparkling, flavored water! those recipes on their website sound so fun - thanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteI'm love love loving that peplum tee! I'm going to have to add that to my spring wardrobe wishlist. So many ways you can wear that! A July vacay sounds absolutely perfect! We don't have many summer trips planned, but I am going to Charleston one weekend with my bestie. It'll be a fun girls getaway. :) Have you ever been to Charleston? I'm thinking you have, but I can't remember!
ReplyDeletelove that top! It's so cute!
ReplyDeleteThe bag is so cute as well, looks perfect for a getaway :)
That dining set---loooove! I'm a huge fan of exposed brick and I love how that photo is styled with the brick, the chairs (love them!) and the wood table, too. I can't wait to see how you decorate your new home! I hope you'll share a tour like you did of your old(?) home. :)
ReplyDeleteI am also on the hunt for a dining table, and it's been hard to find one that's the right size and within my budget. If I had more space, I love the one you chose above. Good luck with Whole 30 this month!
ReplyDeleteThat's so exciting to be shopping for furniture and decor for a new house! I have always wanted an interior brick wall. I can't wait to see how all your new spaces turn out!
ReplyDeletethat top is adorable! go you for Whole30 - we're starting it later this month. Takes some mind training for sure! Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteOh girl, I am SO in love with that peplum tee! I am really looking for some peplum tops for this spring/summer, and something like that would be perfect for work and weekend outfits! I'll be checking it out for sure! :)
ReplyDeleteWell I obviously say Philadelphia!
