cheers-ing: with our favorite Cincinnati beer, after bringing back a good stock from last weekend's trip. We have great local brewing options here in Michigan too, but we do miss Rhinegeist.
organizing: Hendrik's playroom. He's quite good at putting away his toys in the correct drawers (he gets a couple of type-A tendencies from me, let's just say), but there's enough of an accumulation of toys and books and coloring supplies here that I'm constantly getting the itch to get things arranged just so. And am excited to share a tour of the whole playroom next week!
dreaming: up a fun girls' weekend for the end of the month with a girlfriend with whom I'm wayyy overdue to catch up. Eyeing Cafe Patachou for a brunch outing, so we can do what we do best (talk + eat pancakes), but any Indianapolis suggestions welcome!
buying: "top-things" (as he would call them) for the ice cream sundae bar I'm planning for Hendrik's triple scoop third birthday bash. He's pretty excited about the big 3 - when he sees one leaf on the ground he shouts, "It's fall! Time for my birthday!"
listening: to The Hunts. They opened for OAR at the concert we went to last month, and I've been listening to this album on repeat ever since. They're 7 siblings, and the great harmony in their songs shows it! The overall vibe reminds me of Of Monsters and Men, who we saw in concert at the very beginning of the summer, so that's fun.

What are you currently up to on this fine fall day? Join Jacqui and me and share your post below! Then next month (November 2) co-host Catherine and I will talk what we're currently discovering, celebrating, starting, wearing, and googling.
Linkup reminders: Please practice good linkup etiquette and link only posts on this type of "currently" theme (we reserve the right to delete unrelated posts); also link back to Jacqui and me somewhere in your post, and be sure to visit and comment on some other people's currently lists.
I love how he knows fall is his birthday! It's so hilarious how kids pick up on that kind of stuff and hold on to it. Have fun on your girls trip! Those are the best.
ReplyDeleteI still struggle with organization issues with my kids' stuff! I'm going to have to give The Hunts a listen! A girl's weekend sounds like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteCheck out Milktooth for brunch in Indy!
ReplyDeleteI love Of Monsters and Men, I will check out The Hunts! And that is so cute about Hendrick. Ollie kind of understands his birthday is coming soon, we're having more trouble getting him to pick a Halloween costume though!
ReplyDeleteSo pumped about the music recommendation! And seriously LOLing at "top things!!" :) Happy October, thanks for letting me co-host! :)
ReplyDelete"Top things" I love it! I'm looking forward to a girls' weekend too! I'm meeting up with a friend to work on blog stuff! And to eat. Obviously!
ReplyDeleteOooh! I am also way overdue for a girls weekend! Pancakes... maybe some mimosas?
ReplyDeleteTop things- so sweet! Those are my favorites too and what a fun birthday theme. Wahoo, the next link up is on my birthday :)
ReplyDelete"It's fall! Time for my birthday!" Hilarious! Hendrick knows what is up!
ReplyDeleteCould your birthday themes be any cuter?! I'll just "borrow" your Taco Twos-day and Triple scoop ideas for my future children ;)
I love that you are having an ice cream birthday party for Hendrik. That is absolutely adorable. Have fun in Indianapolis.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh Patachou. It is all SO good. I personally suggest the coffee and cinnamon toast. And any of the broken yolk sandwiches. Other food - I havent been but heard Oakleys is amazing as is Harry and Izzys.
ReplyDeleteI love the theme for Hendrik's birthday party. Jordan and I often bring items back from Chicago.
ReplyDeleteI haven't listened to OAR in years, but now I want to listen to ALL THEIR SONGS! :) Going to have to dig out my high school CDs!
ReplyDeleteLove "top-things!" :)
Well it may go without saying, but I think your "triple scoop" third birthday idea is pretty much the best thing ever. I will have to eat a scoop or two myself in Hendrik's honor that day :) I can't wait to see your playroom tour too! Hopefully I'll get some inspiration for storage/organization--we don't really have a playroom so we kind of have to live with toys in multiple living spaces, which can be a challenge.
ReplyDeleteAh that 3rd bday party theme is ADORABLE! Have so much fun! As always, love the link up!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is soo cute that he knows his birthday is coming with the fall of the leaves! So sweet! Happy early birthday to Henrik! ;) Thanks for hosting yet again!
ReplyDeleteYou have a great month ahead Anne with Hendrick's Big 3, Halloween and your special day out with your girlfriend. Are you currently living in IN or MI?
ReplyDeleteThanks for another great monthly Currently linkup. My pleasure to join you. I'd love to co-host this sometime so let me know. Thanks.
