five things Friday: May favorites edition

Here's the most favorite thing about May: three-day weekend! But there were a lot of other fun things to remark on from the month too - here are five favorites:

binge watch: I'm a devotee of Anne of Green Gables and have watched the 1985 production many times, so there was a high bar for a new one - and while it didn't get overall amazing reviews (it is definitely a darker and grittier rendition), I loved the new Anne with an E on Netflix. Only problem was that I had other obligations and couldn't watch all 6 hours in one sitting...but I came as close as I could.

gift idea: everlasting blooms from Amaranthus Paper & Flora. I've been oogling them online for a long time, so I decided it was finally time to order - such a lovely Mother's Day gift for my mom and mother-in-law.

breakfast: I remembered how much I like hashes and have been back at making batches of these lately. Even as breakfast for dinner - since that's Hendrik's favorite.

re-wear: I posted this month about some favorite spring outfits, and I'm still really into the chambray + white. Can't wait to do the summer version with this one-shoulder number soon though!

activity: road biking! I got out a couple of times in April and did spinning classes all winter, but it's feeling so great to be moving outside, and to have the sunshine to go with it.

And now off to a beach holiday weekend, and then launching into my favorite month. (Duh, birthday month!)

  1. Ohh! Thanks for the Netflix recommendation. I was on the fence but your review has me sold. Have a fantastic holiday weekend! Hopefully this Michigan weather treats us well :)

  2. I'm only in the first episode of Anne. The actress who plays Anne is a little annoying but I still love the story. I own the 1985 version on DVD and still watch it regularly.

  3. I've never seen Anne of Green Gables! I think I'll try to watch the original first before I watch the new version. xo jillian - cornflake dreams

  4. Woohoo for long weekends. I took today off, making mine extra long, and much needed. That one shoulder top from Old Navy is fabulous, and the price is unreal! I'm all about breakfast right now too and I love a good hash. Enjoy your long weekend!
