As with things in the "need" category, I think this one can make for a lot of practical gifting - but still stuff that's really fun to get/have. I can personally vouch for how worth-it quite a few of these things are: Invisibobbles are the BEST hair ties for no breakage or kinkage with your ponytail, the Goodr sunglasses are great for running/biking, the Buffs very useful for everything from neck warmer to headband to ear warmer, the Rothy's super comfy and cute (same with the Jazz sneakers), and the Old Navy socks truly cozy.
And as for truly practical - the Tommy John undershirts are a splurge, but hey, for a man who wears an undershirt like this every single day, going for something really quality and soft and breathable definitely seems worth it as a nice gift.
Aaaannnd as for the "might be gifting myself" - the J.Crew coat! I've had several of their coats over the year and they've always been worth the price...
